Hair Cafe
Hair Cafe is an upscale salon in Santa Monica, CA that caters to a hip and healthy clientele. I designed the site to reflect the modern, organic and fun style of the salon. HairCafe.net has an extensive collection of client photos which utilize the popular lightbox AJAX script. Other features include a custom AJAX "client comments" section and an advanced use of png transparencies in the header mask image which facilitates customization of background images. Upon completion of the project, I met with the owner and showed him how to make his own simple HTML updates via a freeware text editor and FTP application.

I had a great time working with Star Shields' vibrant images of colorful airbrush body art to create his site design. Star Shields is well-known throughout the world as the inventor of airbrush face and body art and this site showcases his work through a series of galleries. Eric Rorer needed an elegant portfolio site to display his photographs prominently and functionally. I developed his site
with a mixture of tables and css positioning along with a series of javascript galleries that load quickly and are easy to update.

Master Car Wash & Detailing wanted to advertise their professionalism and friendly neighborhood atmosphere with a
fun and memorable site. The owner requested a special button to promote their gift cards page so I created a hose with a clickable droplet
coming out of its spout. This site also features javascript image rollovers with CSS drop-down navigation and different footer images for each page.

ZunZun, a husband and wife musical duo, performs traditional Latin American music along with their own
original tunes for over 100,000 children and adults each year. Much of their work is focused around educating children about
environmental issues through the use of audience partipication and physical comedy. I designed ZunZun's site to reflect their vivacious
personalities, their multi-instrumentalist tendencies and their love for the environment.

Animal Hospital of Soquel
I love animals so it was great fun for me to create this site for the Animal Hospital of Soquel. The biggest
design challenge in this project involved finding a tasteful way to utilize paw prints and pictures of cute animals. That's
my cat, by the way, on top of their logo. His name is Ceng Ceng (pronounced "Cheng Cheng") and he can often be found on my lap while I work.

Borderlines Incorporated, is a Santa Cruz-based company that installs customized concrete curbing for commercial
and residential gardens. I created the curving navigation bar to reflect the organic design of Borderlines curbing. (The owner told
me right from the beginning that he didn't want "boring right angles.") This site features an abundance of information and includes
a password-protected area for landscape professionals.

Thousand Oaks Business Campus
The Thousand Oaks Business Campus is a commercial property which is located in Memphis Tennessee and owned by the
Glenborough Realty Trust. I designed this website to feature Motion Design's
detailed 3D renderings of their remodeling plans. These 3D renderings allow prospective tenants to take "virtual tours" of the premises before
their construction is complete. The Ocean Group implemented the HTML for this site.

Gamelan Anak Swarasanti
Anak Swarasanti is a Balinese Gamelan Ensemble based in Santa Cruz, CA. I came up with the basic
design direction for this site, created the logo/graphic elements, and edited the images that can be found at the top of each page. Colleagues,
Martin Randall and Cecile Cruz took on the roles of maintaining the content and implementating the code, respectively. Twalen, a traditional
Balinese shadow puppet character, who resides in the lower left corner of the site, was scanned from a drawing by Astrid Randall.
